FORM AND FUNCTION

Philosophy:

This project was done to analyze form and function and how they interact with each other. I have attempted to take two ordinary products and turn them into one extraordinary design. To do this I combined an arch bridge prototype with a wine bottle opener and an adjustable pipe wrench. When adding the functions of these objects to the prototype, the form of each has changed to work with each other in a new way. The form of the arch bridge has changed to support the movable part of the bridge which is off set to one side. The form of the movable parts of the bottle opener and the pipe wrench have changed for their new function of moving a road bed.
