The Farmingdale State Rams arrived in Rochester NY destine to leave their mark and compete for the 2009 National Championship. The Rams handled their business early with tough fought wins over the University of Colorado, and perennial powerhouse Hope College, earning the team their first semi-final bid in the programs history. The Rams entered the semi-finals knowing they needed to play almost perfect hockey, because of the team they were going to face minus All Atlantic Defenseman and captain Frank "Izzy" Ingabrethesen, and their second leading goal scorer and Academic All American Matthew Dorsey. The Rams gave it all they had, a great goaltending performance and a post were the difference. The Rams were defeated by Florida Gulf Coast University in a tough fast paced game 3-2. The Rams having suffered only their 3 loss in 25 games, played probably the most exciting game of their week when they lost to Grand Valley in the consolation game for 3rd place in overtime. The 2009 National Championship Tournament concluded the Rams season, leaving the Rams with a 27-4 record. Off season training and workouts will begin on April 8th 2009. The cost is $200 per player. Payment must be received prior to participation. Farmingdale State will be training at the Bethpage Ice Rink. All returning players and recruits expected.
